I have been running a Leadership / spear mastery build I have only a couple points left. I am wondering if I am better off with a max shield (using less then 9 req) or an off hand caster item for energy (although I really don’t need the energy) or a noob shield of lesser protection that I can meet the requirement.

Your thoughts ?

How do you use a lot of energy when your profession has a primary that gives you energy, and you have adrenaline skills?

req 7 AL15 shields, run a 12/11/6 split

alternatively, just don't bother with other attributes, +8 armor is enough for a naturally high armored class unless you're running SY!

Just run a less than max shield that is much easier to get and you'll still have 88 armor vs. any attack.

12/11/6 split is best if you can find req 7 AL15 shield. Or just use a max shield that you don't meet the requirement, +8AL is better then the +useless energy that you shouldn't need. Just have a +15e or +20e staff on another set for emergency.

The same way wammos run out of energy. Except, you'd have to be even worse since at least the warrior has an excuse of not having an infinite-energy-giving primary att.

get an +5 energy shield from the collecter in ascalon somewhere. Runic shield from a colelcter that gives +5 erergy

Why is everyone flaming me because I like a lot of energy management?Why do people have to be nazis over someone who prefers to have 40 energy?o-o
I simply find it more convenient.
Think about it:
Aggresive refrain uses 25 energy
Focused anger uses 10
You already used up 35 energy and you still don't have enough energy to apply tintf, so you need to quickly build up adrenaline by using spear of fury which costs 5 energy to use sy or other adrenaline shouts to quickly regain your energy to use tintf.
Understand now my strategy?
Due to monster ai,Paragons don't get attacked much in pve anyways :P

paragon's have broken energy management, that's like saying I need more energy on my pre-nerf SR necro.

You can do whatever you want, we're just stating what is best to do, if you want to continue to be bad and not taking all the advantage that you can, go ahead. And no, I don't understand your strategy, why aren't you upkeep AR and put it up pre-fight? Maybe then you wouldn't have energy problem.

You put Aggressive Refrain up as soon as you zone, not when you aggro. Even when I do I follow it up with For Great Justice!; I don't need SY and TNTF when my monks still have full energy at the start of the fight. I can wait 5~ seconds to build SY.

How convenient, everyone's already answered for me. If you have to recast AR more than once, you're horrible, so I never include it in energy costs.
